“Noah believed in God in his ordinary life. Before the great test came, before he heard the oracle from the secret place, Noah believed in God. It is a great thing to have faith in the presence of a terrible trial, but the first essential is to have faith for ordinary everyday consumption. Have you faith in God as to your daily bread? Have you faith as to your children and your house? Have you faith about your trade and business? Have you faith in the God of providence?—faith in the God who answers prayer? Is it habitual with you to roll your burden upon the Lord? If it is not so with you, what will you do when the floods break forth?
